(Johns Creek, GA) Representative Lynne Riley announced today she would seek reelection to serve the citizens of State House District 50. Riley was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 after serving as Fulton County Commissioner for North Fulton (District 3) for over 6 years.

"I have been honored to serve the citizens of Johns Creek, and I am proud of my work in the General Assembly to date. While we have made many improvements in policy areas that enhance the quality of life for Georgians, there is always more we can do for our citizens. I hope to continue my efforts in the areas of tax, transportation, environmental and retirement policies," Riley said.

Representative Riley serves on the House Natural Resources and Environment Committee, the House Retirement Committee, and MARTOC (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Oversight Committee). She was appointed as Chairperson of the Governance Sub-Committee of MARTOC, and oversaw a comprehensive review of the MARTA act in 2011.

Representative Riley serves as a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council's Tax and Fiscal Policy Task Force. She regularly attends the ALEC Policy Task Force meetings, and actively participates in ALEC general meetings.

Representative Riley has long been involved with an extensive group of community and civic organizations. Lynne serves on the American Cancer Society North Fulton Advisory Board and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra/Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park Board of Trustees. Riley is a member of the Class of 2005 of the Atlanta Regional Commission's Regional Leadership Institute and an alumnus of the Coverdell Leadership Institute. Lynne is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Johns Creek Foundation, Inc. and the Conservative Policy Leadership Institute, Inc. She is a proud member of the Alpharetta Rotary Club.

Lynne Riley is a professional accountant and Principal of Riley Accounting Services. She and her husband Mike have resided in the Johns Creek community for 24 years.
